Embroidering your favourite Embroider Buddy® plush on a 1-needle embroidery machine is simpler than you think! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just getting started, you can easily create a beautifully personalized stuffed animal. Follow these three simple steps, and you’ll be stitching smiles in no time!
Step 1: Choose Your Design & Prep Your Buddy
The first step is the perfect design. Whether it’s a name, monogram, or fun motif, ensure your design fits within the Buddy’s embroidery area.

To prepare your Buddy:
- Unzip and remove the stuffing pods from the head and belly. This makes hooping as easy as 1-2-3!
- Smooth out the fabric where you will embroider to ensure even stitching.
- Select the right stabilizer. A cutaway stabilizer works best for plush fabrics, providing durability and preventing puckering.
Step 2: Hoop & Align for Success
Hooping your Buddy correctly is the key to a clean and professional look. Since a 1-needle machine requires the hoop to be securely fastened, follow these tips:
- Use a sticky stabilizer or a temporary spray adhesive to help hold your Buddy in place.
- Ensure the fabric is not stretched in the hoop.
- Double-check the alignment to ensure your design is positioned just right (measure twice, embroider once 🙂 )
Step 3: Stitch & Stuff Your Embroider Buddy
Now, the fun part – watching your design come to life!
- Slow down your machine’s speed to ensure precision on the plush fabric.
- Trim any jump stitches carefully as your design progresses.
- Once embroidery is complete, remove the excess stabilizer and replace the stuffing pods.
- Zip up your Buddy, give it a fluff, and admire your handiwork!

With a little practice and some creativity, you can transform any Embroider Buddy® into a personalized keepsake that will be cherished for years. Happy stitching!
