Learning Embroidery from Deborah Jones

If you’ve been following our blog for a while, you may already know how much we adore Deborah Jones and her inspiring embroidery skills. Deborah has more than 30 years experience with computerized embroidery and used to run a successful embroidery business. She has written for and been featured in many embroidery magazines. She is a popular speaker on embroidery topics and has written embroidery software manuals.

Quite possibly the best thing about Deborah is that she also loves to share her ideas and methods for creating beautiful embroidery through instructional videos and other teachings. For anyone looking to start embroidery or perfect their craft, we can almost guarantee that Deborah has a tutorial or course to help. For this Tip Tuesday, we’re sharing some of our favourite courses and how-to’s from Deborah.

  • Professional Lettering Techniques: This course is perfect for personalizing an Embroider Buddy® product with a name, initials or sentiment. Deborah will show you how to achieve professional-quality embroidered lettering on any fabric and personalize projects of all sizes with font selection, software tricks and more.
  • Dimensional Machine Embroidery: If you want to add a little bling and pop to your next embroidery project, this is the course to take. Deborah will show you how to create inspired machine embroidery with surprising special effects using foam, trapunto, fringe, faux fur, crystals and more.
  • Club Ed: If in person learning is more your style, why not consider joining one of Deborah’s travelling in-person classes? These group learning events are two days and incorporate Embroider Buddy® into the teachings. The dates and locations are on Deborah’s website.
