Move over yellow and green, grey is the new gender-neutral baby colour! Everyone has been talking about how grey is the hot colour for baby décor these days. There are so many popular shades available that are anything but drab or dreary. Our grey Embroider Buddy® stuffed animals, Duncan Donkey and Elford Elephant are becoming popular buddies. I’m happy we have two grey buddies in the Embroider Buddy® family for you to choose and soon we’ll be adding Kory the Koala!
Pastel colours like pink, blue, green, teal, coral, lavender and yellow all tie in with shades of grey and are great accent colours you can use for embroidering baby gifts too!
Grey is also a perfect colour for a modern gender-neutral nursery if you’re decorating in advance of baby’s arrival. Pinterest is filled with endless nursery décor ideas that use grey as inspiration. Check out Baby Logan in his grey nursery on the blog Grey Likes Baby, and Sabine’s beautiful grey and pink princess room on Project Nursery.
Big brands are catching on too. Pottery Barn has an entire grey nursery section on their online Harper Shop and inspiration for a gender neutral grey nursery in their Design Studio! I love the use of small elephant printed bedding in soft greys, making a perfect spot for Elford to snuggle up! Restoration Hardware takes it one step further and shows you how to turn that grey baby nursery into a big kids’ room with their bedroom inspirations.
While you can use it as the primary décor colour, grey also works well as an accent shade. One mom was inspired by the popular chevron stripe patterns to design an aqua nursery, accented with grey chevron stripe! The result is absolutely beautiful, as you can see on Project Nursery.
